my wife's work is offering Colonial Life, it feels like a scam

My wife just got a new job, and they're offering her this insurance from a company called Colonial Life.
The agent was super vague and said it would be about 8% of her paycheck for a so called unspecified discount on her healthcare.
That sound doesn't make sense and is a total scam to me. I looked it up, and it sounds like an MLM for old people, but my wife is only 21.

Has anyone been offered this through their job? Is it a good deal, or is it a waste of money?

Colonial Life provides several insurance options, such as disability, accident, and hospital indemnity plans. The 8% deduction could be linked to a supplemental insurance plan, so it's important to look over the plan's specifics to grasp the coverage and benefits fully.
