So, I got a job offer from a place that uses UnitedHealthcare for insurance. This is my first real job, so I really want to make sure about this

I'm disabled and use it a ton. so, health insurance is a major thing I'm stressing about with job hunting 'cause I need to know what your take is on United Healthcare?
My biggest worry is how their prescription coverage is.

Right now, I'm on my family's Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, and it's great for me

Nah, stick with Blue Cross til you find another to consider. UHC is literally just plain crap.

UHC has its ups and downs. It's a large network and their digital tools are pretty good, but prescription coverage can be inconsistent. You often have to jump thru some hoops for prior authorizations, and sometimes you'll face denials. My advice? Get their formulary, see if your meds are covered, and be ready for some paperwork. It's not as easy as BCBS, but you can manage it with a solid plan

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. UnitedHealthcare's prescription coverage has been hit or miss. Like some meds are fine, others need pre-approval or cost more. To be honest, it's not terrible, maybe just misunderstood. But definitely not as smooth as BCBS based on all the info I know of it.

I totally agree, I've had the same experience some things go through no problem, others are a hassle for no clear reason. BCBS definitely felt more straightforward with fewer surprises at the pharmacy
